Hi, so i've never skated before and need some advice. I'm trying to buy some skates but i've no idea what to look for. I've got tiny feet (UK size 4) and i'm a student so don't have a huge budget. I'm quite happy to buy second hand but have no idea what to start looking at. Any advice would be great - like what brands are good, any particular features I need. I do eventually want to go into "proper" aggressive skating, if that affects what I should get!

If I were you I would definitely go second hand if you can. 'Cause when I bought my first pair of skates, they ended up not fitting me too well because I have wide feet. Not only that but when your starting out you don't know what you like too.

Are you sure that your foot is size 4 UK? I'm Canadian and may not be familiar but I checked it out and UK sizes are supposed to be double digits? I would keep in mind too that most skates are sized in mens sizing too.

Anyways I would just keep in mind; you should go cheap for your first pair, get an anti rocker frame set up (and make sure you groove your frames on some concrete first)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUgDukpPXII . Get a new pair of name brand wheels too like; Street Artist, Eulogy or Undercover. I say this 'cause the "stock' wheels that come with your skate would suck and you will only hate them and watch them wear real fast too.

Hope I could help. Message me back if you need anymore help.

Thanks for the reply. Yes it is UK 4, European sizes start around 30 someting, think I'm a european size 37.

Your advice was great help - so thanks!!  Probably going to be asking lots of questions for a bit. Don't know any who skate around here. Thanks!!
