If you have a PC then you can just use Windows Movie Maker. It comes on your computer. It's not very fancy but it gets the job done. If you want something fancier, go to Best Buy or some place and they can get you a really good one.

If you are fairly good with Torrents just get Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere off a torrent site :)

Depends on how much $$ you want to spend. We use Adobe Premiere here at work, but it's really expensive.

you can just torrent it and get it as long at you don't plan on selling stuff with your edits cause that could cause a huge problem lol
