recently got back into skating and wanted to try a down rail. The rail itself is fat so im kinda scared in a sense lol but who's not. Anyways my question was how to approach a rail in any types of sizes and other questions is how to build your self up to doing a down rail? Thanks my brothers

Lol yeah, i want to start doing down rails but dont know how to approach it because i dont feel confident in grinding it. On top of that is a fat rail lol

Hey Jeff, like you I recently got back into skating.

I did my first rail down a short set of stairs off the side of a funbox at a skatepark a month or two ago. I would say first off be super and I mean SUPER comfortable with whatever grind you're planning on doing (for me it was a soul grind which is what I recommend). Also be prepared to jump a little higher than you might expect. Other than that, it's all about just gaining enough confidence to do it. That or just tell yourself "fuck it" and just go for it. What's the worst that can  happen, right?

I hope that helps, man!
