Welcome to Skate Sessions

It just hit me one day, that urge somewhere deep in my brain that I hadn’t felt in a long time. I really wanted, no I needed, to skate.

There was a time, in my teens, when I spent whole days out ‘rolling’ with my friends. We were a solid crew of 6-8 kids, most of them younger and some of them older than me, and we met at the park almost everyday.

We pushed each other to be better skaters. Seeing one of the guys land a new trick made me want to try it too. We brought each other progression, we brought each other support.

But that was then and this is now.

Now, I find myself skating alone, or worse surrounded by bikes, boards and an unfathomable swarm of scooters. Aggressive skating was even taken out of the X-Games back in 2005. But that old urge stays with me, and it’s an itch that must be scratched.

So join me at Skate Sessions, and help me revive this dying art; or just watch me ride out skating’s final days.

Comment by ROYA7 JENKIN$ on March 29, 2010 at 7:12pm: final days?no no no weve just begun. feel your whole words.it was me and all of us 25-30 sumthins getting back to/realzing our roots and who we really are.you cant stop loving rolling.sometimes we get a job or married or join a band but the feeling of emptiness of not skating only boils and surges and erupts,and usually in good favor as well.looking back at all my years of skating im havin the most fun ever rite now...im finally able to do all or most of everything ive dreampt of or still dreaming of.the technologys finally here for us old school dudes who grew up with trs and fattys and argons.we finally have what we need...and what we need is not the tv exposure thats old and obvious.what we need for this sport is the old school die hards like me and you to embrace and educate the new rollers of today.and show em how its done haha...keep shredding my inline comrade i had the same moment u did and i think alot of us are actually im seeing more and more"inline vets"out there or coming back...even the old pros of yesteryear are resurfacing and showing they are here still and can still skate..........its only begun for us new or old.inline isnt back or having a comeback, its because of dudes like me and you and alot of others on here and everywere else that keep it alive.it will always be here ,so if any body thinks other wise i feel really bad for them.really bad.
