Why is everyone against skating?

K checks this out. This saturday i went with my brother to his soccer practice. Of course i brought my skates with me. it was nice out so i brough them. Anyway this place is pretty sweet, its down in columbia at an elementry school. not sure of the exact location, but its sweet.
Anyway i was Pstaring on this fire parking thing(you know the curb thats painted red, for the fire trucks?) Well it was pretty messed up. It wasn't even red and the curb had a ton of cracks in it. But it slid prettty well.
K so im doing that minding my own business until this guy comes up and goes "WTH are you doing?" Now i had just landed my first ever unity so i was feelikng pretty good. Until he comes out of nowhere cursing at me and what not. Then he gose " You can't do that here, your messing up the sidewalk! God do you even know how to think?You probably can't with your hair so tight."
K so now i was pretty pissed. I didn't need some stranger telling me what to do. And anyway dose anyone pay any attention to the sidewalk? I don't think so.(but if you do, by all means thats fine)
So now he says that he's going to call the poliece if i dnt leave. But I told him i wasn't going anywhere, until he gives me a good reason to leave, other than " your messing up a curb that has been like this eversince last year"
So some guys who were playing basketball come over and tell the guy to back off, cus i'm there cousin( i wasn't but these guys were real cool.) Now theses were some pretty big guys so the other fellow decide to leave.
So these guys wanted to know what all the fuss was about so i showed them a few tricks.

Its people like them that make this world cool, you kno?
Well that was all my weekend.
Now, what would you guys do in that situation?

i don't think someone would sue if they got hurt on somebody elses' property, especialy when they wern't suppose to be there.

Comment by Kasey on April 26, 2009 at 5:29pm: simple fact is if I were a judge n a skaters family were tryin to sue over injurys picked up while skating I'd be laughin at em n sayin getout -Next! is pretty obvious to most that strappin wheels to your feet n shootin along a ledge/rail/curb or whatever is that if it goes wrong you're gettin hurt, its not the fault of the property owner only oneself, had experience with this at the start of the year after makin bits of my wrist in a public area, local authority was gonna ban me cus they heard I'd sue but when they asked me I was like man thats weak! I decided to put wheels on my feet, I decided to do something dangerous on said wheels, so my logic is who can I sue really? Myself is the most likley candidate here, wasnt the councils fault I fucked up, was entirly down to me. Anyone who sues in these cases is one lame mofo.

Comment by TJ on April 26, 2009 at 6:14pm: its all about the money unfortently thats all ppl think about and i myself had the same shit happen to me i got a $4800 bill from the hospital [still waitin for the plastic surgens bill] from wen i tore my finger off i coulda sued the park but instead i signed my first waiver 2 weeks after i did it its all apart of skating its not if you get hurt its wen you get hurt if you cant take care of your own or kids fuck ups then its your problem
