What the crap happend?

what the fuck happend to all the old company's? I think senate may have just went under, can't find oxygen, cds detroit, kryptonics and hyper fuckin suck now. medium, 976 launderings, and many others? i know i been outta the game awhile, but shit. needless to say my life led me else where for some years, now at 26, almost 27, i'm at the fuckin gas station today, on my roces, and some probaly 16 year old is fuckin stunned. hasn't seen skates in years, and when i asked why he said " because we're all lazy" when i was 16 we didn't have skate parks, and now that im back to fallin on my ass, and nobody around skates, okay some boarders, which is fine, thats how i started, but not near the numbers they built a fuckin skate park.
By all means i'm open to answers, and fill free to add a bitch or two to the list.

I know!!!!!!! I miss 976, medium, and all the others. My friend still skates his baby blue low-cut Oxygen's. When I came back I too was surprised to see everything gone. What a bummer. I guess we need to spread the rolling revolution....again. Maybe this time it will stick.

Its obvious. Skating isn't as popular as it used to be. Hell, even when it was at the height of its popularity it was still underground. Alot of companies have died out. The sport is vertially dead. I still love it with a passion though.

Here is a little video I found of Jon Julio talking about skating, where it's been and where it's going. Check it out. http://www.believeinone.com/wp-content/media/Juliointerview.mov

Yeah the internet is taking over and the TV and PSP's and PS3's and Xboxes, people don't go out as much anymore. But somehow I think it's slightly going downhill, I mean I getting real bored of the internet these days and maybe this will be the beginning for when kids start to breath in fresh air again and see real people, not just pixels and graphics..

I'm with you - all of the good old ones are gone. What surprises me is that for the most part all of the old skaters are gone too. I don't understand why pros can't hang around like in boarding or bmx.
