Depending on how you guys might read this might change your mind on either the subject or the writer. Now I've been skating on and off for about 7 years and I've recently decied to get back into it. But one thing that kills me are the videos that I see on this website. I understand alot of you are new but please give me a break. If you can't skate then don't post videos of you guys not knowing how to skate and then write details next to it saying "I know I don't know how to skate". Please spare us all the embarassment. Please.
hey!! i am a begginer ... if u dont try summink u will neva learn......... and this site is made to show how gurd u r...share comments on different mooes............and to ask for help!!.....
...................."we" have a hard time from peeps like u.......hu dont like these learners get in ur way......like in skate parks......
if ur there to learn ur there to fall!!! [[<<tis truu]]]
I see I ruffled a few feathers. Relax one. Two, I'm not downing on beginners, thats certainly not the case. I love you guys. However! If you know the videos suck then don't post them. For you, and for our community. People look at that and they think thats what we all are like. Just because you can post a video doesn't mean you should. You should accept your level of skill and wait until you actually have enough skill to broadcast to the entire world. Look at Morales, Broskow, Short, Aragon, Haffey, Shima, Murda, etc. The absolute best, what videos do you see of them when they started out skating? None. They waited until they had skill. Just think about what you're doing thats all.
A lot of pro skaters insert small clips of them as beginners into their sections on skate movies. I've seen a clip of Haffey when he was just starting rails, looked like a doofus, fell on his ass. Look at him now, I don't think he's embarrassed by his past.
LOL, i actually had videos of Morales when he started... we started together like 12 years ago (Me, Franky, Rico, Orland) Unfortunately i stopped like 3 months into it and never skated again until now 12 years later... if there was internet back then like there is now then we would have those clips of Franky when he was starting out ;)
And please don't talk like you know me. I'm trying to be nice. And I have not insulted anyone, I've actually helped a couple of beginners while I've been here. Look I'll do it again, Sk8r Chick, when you jump, always tuck your legs in to your chest- not behind you. It looks better, you'll jump higher, and it prepares you for more complicated stuff like grinding and gaps.
the reason that most people post videos is so that others lke me or anyone can see what they are doing wrong and tell them how to do it right so they get better. for example me i couldnt grind verywell i didnt put i video but i put a pic and someone told me what i was doing wrong and now i can grind like there is no tomorrow videos are a good way to not only learn from but they are good for a good laught once in a while lets just say you cant learn anything if you dont ask for help and it is hard to get help if someone half a world away cant even see what you are talking about.
You make perfect sense. And you're completely right. But its all about presentation. You can't take a film, throw some transitions in it, put a hot track on it, with some official ass title and then say you just want to have your tricks corrected. If thats the case then just film the trick and post it. That way when I'm looking for videos I won't come across some trash thats decorated and presented as if they won't to showcase skills. The same video which some fucking haters can pull up and show their friends as tangible evidence that we do nothing but jump up and down and skate backwards. Discretion is all I ask.
thats right all thoughs beginners out there are helping keep this sport alive i remember 10 years ago when i started skating i was the only one i knew that skated other then my familly and now i gusse i am still the only one that skates in my town so never mind
