Start with practicing stalls like soul, mezu, and pornstar to get used to balancing. When you approach the rail jump with both feet and try to get them both on the rail at the same time, that way you won't get into the nasty habit of "stepping" onto stuff. Once you get comfortable with the stalls try grinding the one that feels the most natural(for me it was mezu) and just keep doing that one over and over. Try it at many different speeds then move on to another grind.

Thats pretty much how I learned, it also helped that I would skate around town for about 4 hours every day to make skating second nature to me.

Hope this helps, keep skating! :)

try out some soul grinds. those came really natural to me. i got it down in a hour or so. and the pictures you have look good. when you go up the rail for a frontside try to keep you feet about shoulder length apart. then you'll have better balance and smaller chance of your feet sliding out from under you.

Ye theres nothing to do than practice and practice.. i am doing stalls atm to learn how to lock in the different kind of grinds. Which is really helping cuz it also teaches me how high i should jump so i don't jump to high or low and fall :)

But it looks good you just need practice like the rest of us

get used to stalls before you start grinding makes everything easier and dont step onto the rail thats how i started hardest habit to break and if you have your rail at an angle and 8 inches at the highest point i found that to be easier then a flat rail and if you have a new pipe or a piece of pvc they really dont need wax and just practice the same thing for an hour or two that help alot thats how i got it down and if you fall just get back up and try agian but dont be afraid to fall you make your self freak out and wont be able to grind or if you can you will probibly fall and it helps to start kinda near a wall or something to have the fealling that if i need help i can just hold the wall but dont hold on to it if you dont need it dont spred your feet too far apart you will fall back and you dont need much time to gain speed a foot should do maybe two feet and if you fallow these basics you should do fine

i hope this helps if not i will try agian good luck and remember if you fall just get back up and "shake the dust" -hawke trakler

wat kind of pole?

u should go buy a practice rail from dicks, or sports authorty.
and just jump on to the rail. tips help but first hand is the best way to go.
watch skate videos. like Brian Shima, Erick Bailey, Jeff Stockwell, chris haffey. watch the grinds they do.
and just try them on ur lil rail.
falling is all part of learnin and fallin on a P-rail isnt tht bad at all.
just throw self onto a grind

o and everyone always says try doin it in a stall first.

i never do cuz when it comes down to grindin its very differnt. i hate when ppl stall a curb doin a trick they wanna do cuz its not gonna help

sure it does. I mean, yea, with a grind ur body is oriented completely differently from a stall to compensate for the forward momentum, but stalls are good for just getting your feet used to the different positions for different grinds.
I still do it occasionally to see how to move my feet for switch ups.

Skate as much as you can and skate with friends. Watching other people skate makes you want to skate some more. Oh and don't be afraid to fall that's gonna happen no matter what
