You gotta take care of bearings, I haven't seen any water proof bearings, a lot of them do have rust resistant rubber shields though. I usually clean my bearings after every skate session, especially if I accidentally rolled through a puddle.

well how do you clean them

Most of the time I simply remove each wheel and wipe the bearings clean with a paper towel. Sometimes I will remove the shields and wipe inside the bearings then reapply lubricant.

Some people periodically soak their bearings in special detergent but I've never done it, by the time my bearings get to the point where they stop working I usually just buy new ones, they aren't that expensive.

Here's an article that explains exactly how to soak your bearings in case you don't want to buy new ones: http://web.skatefaq.com:81/bearings.html

I do the same. Poping bearings out, especially on older skates can be a bitch. I used to use WD-40 on my bearings, but have since learned that they make the corrode faster. I normally just switch out with a new set of ABEC 5's. Its not like bearings are that expensive.

not that expensive the cheapest i found them for was 40 dollars

Here's a pack of 8 Abec-5 for $9.

Most bearings that I've had even if I rarely clean them last long enough to go through 2 sets of wheels. Just avoid dirt and puddles as much as you can. :)
