hey. I need some help grind quarterpipes. whenever i get up onto the coping i seem like im not sliding a lot at all. and when i do im leaning to much forward. do i just need to go up the ramp at more of an angle? help me out.
yea, ive noticed as bladers we love wax, but if ur in a park with skateboarders they HATE wax, cuz they fall all over the place. There was a park i was in before, and the boarders saw us grinding the coping of a halfpipe, and they flipped out, and actually got SANDPAPER (dont ask me where they got that) out and started sanding the wax off the coping. Of course all that succeeded in doing was get flakes of wax all over the body of the halfpipe, making it a deathtrap.
you need more speed and carve...and only 5 out of 100000000 at most local parks can actually grind the whole ramp.....and wax isnt always the answer....stop wearing street skates to a park have at least 2 pairs of skates....
a buddy of mine, who is a really good skater, gives me these few words whenever i pull what you are talking about... " loosen up, bend your knees, lean back, and just go with it..." trust me, think about what you are doing, come up the ramp, stay low, turn a little towards the direction of the grind and watch your feet, the rest will just flow naturally.
