simple answer was when skateboarding became the huge new sport that skating was something to be left in the 90's. at the time it was to commercial and skateboarding was more raw. and probably they got sick of making 2 skate parks for everything b/c skateboarders can't skate the same kind of ramps. o well i say. it's turned to sport around. and from the way it looks for the better.

I saw somewhere it was that rollerbladers were getting more money than the skateboarders
so I dunno
there was a petition online somewhere to get it back but the link failed for me :/
